Ensuring the well-being of the client by providing a comfortable, safe and healthy environment with the client

Provide supervision and maintain the comfort, privacy and dignity of the client at all times.

Assist in the provision and monitoring of their activities. Report and document issues to senior staff member in charge.

 

Essential

  • Minimum six months paid experience in a learning disability setting.
  • Applicants must be prepared to obtain an Enhanced Access NI (Police Check)
  • These positions are subject to Northern Ireland Social Care Council Registration (NISCC)

Additional Information

The duties of a learning disability support worker break down into two main areas:

  • promoting health
  • promoting well-being

The responsibilities of a support worker vary depending on the needs of the individual client. Typically they include: Assessing the practical and emotional needs of a client and drawing up a care plan.  Support workers provide emotional support by talking to clients and listening to their problems and concerns.
