Support Service Assistants

  • Hours
  • 8am - 1pm (20 hours)
  • 2.30pm - 6.30pm (20 hours)
  • OR
  • 10am - 6pm

To Provide an effective and efficient cleaning service, which provides for a safe and clean healthcare environment for the delivery of health and social care services, which are patient / client  focused.

The successful candidate will be responsible  for ensuring high standards of environmental cleanliness in accordance with client protocols and procedures; these standards are integral to the prevention and control of healthcare associated infections (HCAI)

To assist in serving patient meals and beverages as appropriate dependent upon work location / area.

Full Training will be provided

Must take Access NI Check

Essential

Successful canidate will be provided with the necessary training to undertake the duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Required to attend statutory and mandatory training requirements of the position.
  • Required to participate in and successfully complete the Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals Development Programme during the first six months of taking up post.

AND

  •  Required to participate in and successfully complete the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate during the first six months of taking up post if not already obtained upon taking up post.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage the day-to-day requirements and demands of the position.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • Ability to maintain high quality standards of environmental cleanliness.
  • Manual handling skills.

Desirable

Previous experience working in a healthcare environment.

Previous relevant experience working in a cleaning role.

Previous relevant experience working in a catering role.

Qualifications

  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • NVQ Level 2 in Basic Catering Skills.

Knowledge

  • Health & Safety at Work Legislation
  • COSHH and/or HACCP Knowledge
